Music Technology allows students to explore the various aspects of music and digital media production. Students study the basic fundamentals of music theory, music notation, sequencing, multi-track recording, digital editing, and remixing.  Students apply the tools of technology and the language of music to create original music, remixes and multimedia works. Emphasis is placed upon students' musical and technical literacy through individual and collaborative projects that challenge students to become 21st century learners and think differently.
 
The purpose of Music Tech at NCHS is to increase opportunities beyond the world of traditional music making to a world of opportunities that exist in the 21st Century: Film scoring, commercial advertising, media production, acoustic  engineering, TV/Radio production, e-media/web production, electronic systems design, music composing, and arranging.
